How God found a laborer for the harvest

The Lord first began dealing with my heart about the nation of Lebanon while I was still a young boy serving there with my family on the mission field. Although I was raised in a ministry home, I came to understand early on that a calling cannot be inherited, but must be personally attained and cultivated from God. Over the years, the burden God placed in my heart for the Middle East only deepened, and as a young man I dedicated myself to the call of God through prayer and fasting, as well as in learning the language and culture in order to better reach souls with the gospel of Christ.

While studying in college in Beirut, I was heavily involved in campus outreach and Bible studies, also serving through our church's ministry (Beirut Bridge of Hope) to help minister to many families displaced by the Syrian civil war. In 2021, we cofounded Cedars of Hope Academy, a government-licensed Apostolic school in Lebanon that has ministered to hundreds of families through English education, daily chapel services, and Bible Quizzing. Through this ministry, we witnessed many lives transformed by the power of the Truth, with souls desperately repenting of their sins, being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.

One of God's greatest blessings has been giving me a wife whose heart for missions and burden for souls mirrors my own. Together we have dedicated our marriage and ministry to serving in Lebanon and seeing the Kingdom of God established throughout the Middle East. Today, we serve together as assistant pastors at the Apostolic Church of Beirut under my father and mother, Elder Toufic and Sister April Azar, while passionately continuing to advance Apostolic education and evangelism throughout Lebanon.

From the Front Lines

What God is doing in Lebanon

For the past 13 years, God has been building a thriving Apostolic work in Lebanon. Our church just north of Beirut is experiencing revival, and we continue to see lives transformed by the power of the Gospel.

Our Apostolic school grew steadily, and Apostolic education has become an important part of our ministry. Recently, the Lebanese Ministry of Education requested that we transfer our school license to the new property where we plan to build our future ministry campus. As we prepare for this transition, we have remained focused on discipling the next generation, investing in our youth through sound Apostolic doctrine and biblical teaching.

God has also opened remarkable opportunities throughout student communities in Lebanon. During the past year alone, we were invited to teach English and Christian Education at different schools in Lebanon, ministering to nearly 600 students with doctrine and truth.

Beyond Lebanon, the Lord is opening doors throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Elder and Sister Azar continue to oversee the establishment of new churches and mission works in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria. We believe Lebanon is uniquely positioned to become a sending center for Apostolic missions, equipping and launching ministers to carry the Gospel throughout the region.

We are grateful for all that God has already done, and we believe the greatest days of this work are still ahead.

Our dream is to purchase our first apartment home in Lebanon: a place where we can raise our future family in a safer environment away from the city and its bombings and closer to our new church. Because Lebanon is a small country where nearly 90% of the population lives in apartments, housing is both limited and expensive. Owning a home would allow us to serve our mission faithfully while establishing a stable, long-term foundation for our family and ministry.

Monthly Support

Our goal is to develop sufficient monthly support so we can remain in Lebanon year-round rather than making frequent trips back to the United States to raise funds. Stable monthly income would allow us to focus more fully on ministry, discipleship, and serving the people God has called us to reach.

Vehicle

We are hoping to purchase a reliable midsize vehicle that will serve our family and ministry for years to come. This dependable vehicle will provide the space needed to transport people to church, support ministry activities across Lebanon, and accommodate our growing family.

Missional Goals

Our vision is to build an Apostolic ministry headquarters on the new church property in Lebanon. Lebanon is uniquely positioned in the region, providing the religious freedom to baptize converts, hold large conferences, and openly evangelize in non-Christian communities. This campus will also become the future home of our school, serving as a center for Apostolic education and leadership development.

Construction costs are approximately $55 per square foot, and we are trusting God to help us establish a permanent ministry base that will impact Lebanon and the broader Middle East for generations to come.

Prayer for These Dreams

Please pray with us as we pursue the vision God has placed before us for Lebanon. One of our long-term goals is to see the establishment of a recognized Oneness Apostolic religious sect in Lebanon. This would provide a foundation for greater growth, unity, and a lasting Apostolic witness in the nation.

Please also pray that God would raise up and send missionaries from Lebanon into the surrounding regions. We believe Lebanon can become a launching point for the spread of the Gospel throughout the Middle East.
