God's Calling
How God found a laborer for the harvest
In 2021, after serving FPC of Melville for many years, we felt God beginning to prompt us to seek His will regarding the next steps of our calling. Over the next year, through much prayer, fasting, and counsel, we were sure that God was calling us to the mission field and in Feb 2022 felt direction to go to Belize. After receiving the blessing from our dear friends the Damon McKillop family, we moved our family to Guinea Grass, Belize, and helped them with the church there for 3 months. Soon our time and work there were through and we returned to Melville, but understood that God was still leading us full time to the mission field. After another year of seeking, we again received clear direction that God was leading us back to Belize, but this time to the completely unchurched city of San Ignacio. Plans were made, bags were packed, goodbyes and well-wishes were expressed, and on June 7th, 2024, we were off to San Ignacio, Belize, to begin the work that God had been preparing for us.
From the Front Lines
What God is doing in Belize
The work here is still very much in its incipient stage. Everyone with whom God has allowed us to come in contact is completely new to this faith and truth we so strongly believe. Although, to my knowledge, there has never been an Oneness Apostolic church established here, there are over 40 churches in a city of 27,000 people. It seems as though there are churches on every street and with them, every flavor of false doctrine. Since nearly everyone has been affected by this flood of religions to some degree, faith is at an all-time low. After being failed by "churches" many people are losing faith and feeling hopeless. However, our faith is that God will continue to lead us to these people and allow us to show forth the praise of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. We have had great responses to community-type outreach such as Vacation Bible School and outdoor services and have had several new families come as a result.
Dreams for the Kingdom
What your support would mean for Belize
God has led us to a wonderful 6-acre, fenced property at the confluence of 3 growing communities in San Ignacio. We are currently renting the church building and one of the houses and have full use of the premises. At this time, after the entire tiled floor of the church buckled, we are remodeling the building to better suit our needs. The property has been offered to us for purchase, and our prayers are that one day we will be able to do so.
